Liberty Common Junior High School completes the final stages of the Core Knowledge Sequence™ furnishing a powerful launchpad for Liberty’s accelerated secondary-learning (grades 9-12) strategy.  Classical lessons in virtue education lead the way.

LCJHS’s professional classroom instructors joyfully guide each student toward acquiring study habits, learning skills, and organizational tactics that empower them with the background knowledge they’ll need in high school, in college, and in life.  This occurs in a purposeful reading and language environment that builds virtue, a proper sense of morality, furnishes building blocks of leadership and civic participation, and orients young scholars to know and to be inclined toward that which is true, good, beautiful and perfect.

"Having a standalone junior-high building is great for students.  I am excited to be a leader at this campus to help create new traditions for generations of students after me.”OLIVER ELLISSTUDENT LEADER

The Universal Truth of Education

Liberty Common School honors “The Universal Truth:" It is the right and responsibility of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children.  This responsibility begins when families choose the school, its educational philosophy, and its corresponding academic strategies.  Parents lead in ensuring fidelity to the school’s tradition and philosophy by staying informed, volunteering, and reinforcing aligned educational goals at home.

Student Life

The Order System is a unique student-organizational model for junior-high students, replacing the traditional student council with eight small communities called Orders. This system strengthens peer relationships, provides individualized support, and creates meaningful leadership opportunities.

Character Education

At LCJHS, character education focuses on building on students' knowledge of the Foundation Stones and expanding to the Capstone Virtues. These ideas are studied and advanced through rich literature and biographical examples. They are also reinforced through dedicated character assemblies.
