UNA SURGEMUS | "Together We Will Rise"

After much thought and consideration, we have chosen a motto we believe represents this year's class of seniors, and we hope will make an impression on the rest of Liberty Common as we approach a new year.

Upon first wrestling with what makes this year's class of seniors special, we continuously came upon the theme of family.  Our class is very unique in how close we all are with each other– a characteristic which we believe to be of the utmost importance in how we impact the school.  Our closeness allows us to help each other grow, and to encourage each other in our ambitious prospects (for many of us seniors are rather ambitious).  We believe this is why there are so many leaders in our grade, who, whether recognized or not, make such a huge impact on Liberty Common School.

Those of us in the House System have worked to make it a more inviting place where there is a sense of community.  We have also shown an exceptional ability to support each other as we take on a rigorous academic curriculum, and we do so with flying colors.

In all of our endeavors, the class of 2024 has been sure to strengthen each person's character, and to follow the capstones through our exceptional leadership and supportive community.  As we finish celebrating the twenty-fifth year of Liberty Common, we hope to leave a legacy for the next twenty-five years.  As such, we hope to show the students who will come to graduate after us that creating a family at school will allow students to encourage each other to rise far beyond what they ever imagined they could.

Thus our motto that we wish to request for the 2023-2024 school year is "Together We Will Rise" or "Unā Surgēmus" in Latin.  We believe this motto perfectly displays how our class has walked through our Liberty career as a family, always pushing each other to rise to new heights. We hope our class will be able to take this motto beyond high school, and continue to push one another to achieve our best in the next stages of our lives.
