Pick-Up Procedure and Reduced Parking Update
 
To prioritize student safety, LCS tenaciously evaluates policies, procedures, and practices. In light of ongoing parking limitations and a continued focus on campus security, end-of-day pick-up procedures at the Plato Campus have been updated for the 2025-2026 school year.

A new dismissal system will be implemented to improve efficiency and safety.

 
In addition to enhanced shuttle-bus options, Liberty Common Plato Campus will use the Schoolhouse Driveline® application to release students at the end of the day. This application communicates to the classroom, informing students when carpools arrive. This will allow a safe and efficient dismissal at the end of the day.

Driveline® Summary
  • Each family will be assigned a Driveline® ID number.
  • Each grade-level is designated one of the three pick-up lanes (see grade-level designations below).
  • Families are encouraged to use the designated lane of the youngest sibling.
  • To reduce congestion and wait time, families will be encouraged toward a staggered pick-up.
    • Last names that start with A–K arrive between 2:55 and 3:05 PM
    • Last names that start with L–Z are encouraged to arrive between 3:07 and 3:15 PM.
  • Staff on duty will begin to pre-load the app with ID #s at 2:55PM
 
Parking and Parent Walk-Up Highly Discouraged
  • With only 29 visitor spaces available in the front lot, and reduced parking available along Sharp Point Drive and March Court, end-of-day parking and walk-up is highly discouraged.
  • More parking will be available in the coming years as the new LCJHS campus is completed.

End-Of-Day Procedures
  • When arriving to pick up children/carpool, drivers will display their Driveline® placard(s) in their window.
    • Families will receive Driveline® ID numbers via email in August and at the 25–26 Back-to-School Social.
  • A staff member will enter the family ID in the Driveline® app.
  • The family ID will display in each classroom alerting the child and classroom teacher.
    • Teachers will have a list of student ID numbers to aid students with their ID recognition.
    • Students will be packed up and ready, enabling them to head outside efficiently.
    • Changes will also be made to the Student Council’s Snack Shack – details to come in the fall.
Pick-Up Lanes
Families are strongly encouraged to use the following pick-up lanes based on the child’s grade-level or the grade-level of the youngest sibling (see maps below):
  • Kindergarten and First – Front/Red*
    • Kindergarten students are always attended by their classroom teachers.
  • Second and Third – Back/Yellow*
  • Fourth, Fifth and Sixth – Middle/Green
*Families are encouraged to use the lane of the youngest sibling.
 
Carpooling
Families are encouraged to consider carpooling with friends and neighbors. To aid collaboration by neighboring families, the school will create and send home carpool information within the first few weeks of the school year. Carpooling will help reduce traffic congestion around the school.
 
Carpool drivers picking up children from another family, please know or have a copy of the other family’s Driveline® ID to share with the Liberty Common staff on duty.
 
End-of-Day Driveline® – Easy as 1,2,3
Step 1—Memorize your student’s pick-up location and ID number. Keep placard in your car.
Step 2—Learn the drop-off and pick-up procedures (see maps below and helpful hints)
Step 3—Communicate your drop-off and pick-up plan with your child.
 
This system has been utilized with great success and efficiency at the Liberty Common Aristotle Campus since 2022.

Afternoon Pick-Up of Plato and Junior-High Students
  • If picking up both junior-high and Plato students, families should arrive between 3:20–3:25PM using the Plato Campus middle pick-up lane.
  • Elementary students will be released from their classrooms at 3:20PM to join their junior-high sibling. 
  • If picking up both junior-high and Aristotle students utilizing the shuttle, families should arrive at 3:30PM using the back pick-up lane.
  • Junior-high students will be safely escorted to the middle and back pick-up lanes to meet elementary siblings.
 
Morning Drop-Off
Because of the varying nature of arrival times during drop off, families are free to drop off anytime between 7:30 and 7:55AM at any of the three drop-off locations – front, middle, back.
 
Parking and walk-up are highly discouraged by all families with the exception of kindergarten families. All available parking in the front lot should be available to kindergarten families who are expected to walk their children to class.
 
If arriving before 7:30AM, families are expected to stay with their children, as there are no staff on duty to monitor students until 7:30 AM.
 
Morning Drop-off of Plato and Junior-High Students
  • If dropping off both junior-high students and Aristotle students utilizing the morning shuttle, families should drop off JH students first at 7:20AM (see LCJHS drop-off map) and proceed to pull through to the back drop-off lane at the Plato campus to ensure a 7:25AM drop-off for shuttle riders.  Please use the left lane in the middle driveway.
  • If dropping off both junior-high and Plato students, families should drop off JH students first (see LCJHS drop-off map) and proceed to pull through the middle drop-off lane at the Plato Campus.
  • To avoid extended wait times, the school recommends parents drop off junior-high students at 7:25AM and then proceed to the middle drop-off lane for Plato students at 7:30AM.
  • Parents must stay with Plato students until 7:30AM when staff are on duty to provide supervision.
 
Parking
Do not park in the red zones during drop off and pick up times. There are restrictions to these parking areas for safety reasons and respect to area neighbors.
 
The back lot, on loan to the school from Advanced Energy, is reserved for staff only.  Please do not park in the back lot for drop-off or pick-up.

  1. Arrive early to school for drop off so that students are not tardy and rushed.
  2. Students should have all backpacks and materials ready to exit the car.
  3. Pull all the way forward in the carpool lane (even if there is no one behind you).
  4. Do not leave your car. Allow students to exit the car independently or with help from the staff.
  5. Once your car is unloaded, you may pull out slowly to the left and pass others waiting in line. This will allow others to pull forward.
  6. When exiting on Sharp Point and Midpoint, turn right for safety and traffic flow purposes.
  7. Drive slowly. You are in a school zone.
  8. Stay alert. NO CELL PHONE USE IN THE DRIVELINE.
  9. Pick up and drop off in the same locations for morning and afternoon.
  10. 1Let all family members and relatives know these traffic procedures.

  2. Do not leave your car. Train your child to buckle themselves or allow staff to assist.
  3. Pull all the way forward (even if there is no behind you).
  4. When exiting on Sharp Point and Midpoint, turn right for safety and traffic flow purposes.
  5. Students may not load in the queue-up area for safety reasons. Only load in the assigned loading area.
  6. Once your car is loaded, you are ok to pull out slowly to the left and pass others waiting in line. This will allow others to pull forward.
  7. When exiting on Sharp Point and Midpoint, turn right for safety and traffic flow purposes.
  8. Drive slowly. You are in a school zone.
  9. Stay alert. NO CELL PHONE USE IN THE DRIVELINE.
  10. Pick-up and drop-off in the same locations for morning and afternoon.
  11. Let all family members and relatives know these traffic procedures.
