Year Three at Aristotle

Year Three at Aristotle
Casey Churchill, Elementary Principal, Aristotle Campus
Welcome back to year three for Liberty students at the Aristotle campus.  Opening a second Liberty Common School campus has proven a success.  I am thrilled to see what the third year brings.  We see families and students familiar with Liberty Common policies.  Expectations are clear. Our students are thriving both academically and behaviorally.  And to top it all off, we are full.  When schools provide a successful academic program, they flourish.

Our school will be at full capacity this year.  Serving grades K-6 we will have a total population of around 400.  Thank you to our amazing front-office staff for the many phone calls, scheduling of assessments, and tours given throughout the summer to welcome families into our amazing school.  Jill Ronen, Marnie Dame, and Krystyna Sheppard have worked hard all summer filling seats.

Every family needs a warm and welcoming home and the Aristotle campus looks amazing.  Big thanks to our maintenance team for its hard work deep cleaning the building and getting it spick-and-span for the 24-25 school year.  Please make sure to thank Chris Hanna and her team Tracy Hanna and John Loyd for its hard work this summer.  We also hired a LCHS student, Tyson McKinnon who was critical in readying the building. A firm handshake and a "thank you" are in order for our Liberty maintenance team.

A lot of schools shut down over the summer, but not Liberty.  Our doors were open to a number of lucky kids who came back to participate in summer academic camps.  Not only are kids learning over the summer, our staff participated in learning opportunities.  Liberty staff members are great role models on what lifelong learning looks like.  We participated in creating potters as well as book study classes about our summer reading of Watership Down

Finally, the 23-24 state-assessments results are out and we did amazingly well.  This goes to show, if you focus on academics, you will see incredible results.  Congratulations are in order for our teachers and students.  They worked hard and deserve praise for being part of this amazing expansion and proving that presenting students with a rigorous classical education is the ticket to success.

The 2024-25 school-wide motto, designated by the senior class, is FIRMITAS FACIT FAMILIAM. This Latin phrase translates “Strength Makes Family.” Please look for this motto displayed throughout the school next time you stop by.

Welcome back Aristotle families!
