Liberty students, parents, grandparents, and friends have one last “Liberty Lecture” to take in for the school year. The title of the talk being presented on Monday at 6:30PM in the LCHS Great Hall is Postmodernist Art: “The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly.”
It’s intended for everyone in our school community; and, our school community will really benefit from the lesson. Liberty Lectures are part of a fantastic tradition at our school. LCS’s leading professional instructors are Monday’s expert presenters.
Loving art is especially important now. We’re living in a time when Western civilization itself is under attack, where truth, beauty, goodness, and perfection are abandoned to the netherworld in frontal assaults of audacious proportion. Art forms a fearsome phalanx and a saving grace.
Our school community fosters an intellectual appreciation of art. Throughout the time of our sojourning, we’ve conducted ourselves with an intensive reverence for joy. By it, we’ve seen mighty deeds, wonders, and signs giving families glad hearts that dwell in hope.
These mos maiorum traditions are handed on by our ancestors. As their modern messengers, we should consider ourselves cultural warriors holding the line of civilization, certainly for our children’s survival.
See elsewhere in today’s Liberty Common Sense newsletter for more information about the lecture, and plan to attend. It’s a cheerful way to better understand good from bad, to celebrate beauty, and to live joyfully.
