Kallie Cooper
LCHS alumna Raissa Chunko (’14) continues to distinguish herself in the fields of public health and veterinary medicine. After graduating from Liberty, she earned dual Master of Public Health/Master of Social Work degrees through Colorado State University and the Colorado School of Public Health where her work has focused on improving the wellbeing of people and animals through collaborative research initiatives.

Chunko now serves on the faculty at Colorado State University in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Her academic and research interests include One Health approaches examining the intersection of animal and human health, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Her graduate research has included community-engaged work in Montana exploring the health impacts of large-animal veterinary practice as well as interdisciplinary collaborations supporting mental and physical wellness among veterinary professionals. Additional details about her academic journey and research can be found in her CU Anschutz Student Spotlight.

In addition to her professional and academic commitments, Chunko remains connected to Liberty Common School by volunteering her time grading calculus homework for Mrs. Lannen.
