Dr. Kate Watkins, State Demographer
As the state’s chief authority on population data, Dr. Watkins leads analysis of how changes in age, migration, housing, workforce, and regional growth are transforming Colorado’s communities. Her work informs policymakers, educators, business leaders, and local governments across the state, helping them understand not only where Colorado has been, but where it is headed.
This lecture will explore key demographic shifts currently underway in Colorado, examine how these trends affect education, infrastructure, economic opportunity, and civic life, and consider what they may mean for the next generation of Coloradans.
