the Volunteer Support Team at volunteering@libertycommon.org if you can
give some of your time.
Elementary Classroom
Volunteer Coordinator (CVC)
- Work closely with the teacher to organize volunteers for in-class
help and special events.
Upper Grade Classroom
Assistants (CA)
- Work with the upper school teacher on a variety of tasks, which may
include grading, classroom decoration, bulletin boards, making copies
or tutoring.
In-Class Volunteers
- Help in the classroom according to teachers needs. Contact the teacher
or CVC for classroom of choice.
Resource Room
- Become familiar with the photocopier, laminator and many other wonderful
machines while you complete projects needed for the school and teachers.
Hall and Event Decorating
- Use your creative skills to maintain the hallway bulletin boards and
decorate for events.
Book Fair Coordinator
- Organize and set up annual book fair.
- Coordinate volunteers to work at the fair.
Safety Task Force
- Work with the administration to maintain emergency plans.
- Update Emergency Procedure Manuals annually.
- Word Processing
Academic Support
- Support the special education department.
- Tutor students after school.
Health Office
- Care for children who are ill or injured.
*Requires a current CPR certificate, and a First
Aid Certificate is preferred.
Character Education
- Assist the administration with the character education program.
- Assist with character education assemblies, bulletin boards and Monday
Notes.
Lunchroom/Playground
- Supervise and assist children in the lunchroom.
- Clean tables and chairs.
- Supervise children on the playground.
Odyssey of the
Mind
- Help with this event which is similar to the Knowledge Bowl.
- Judge local and district competitions
- Car pool to district competitions and after school programs.
